Healthy Happenings on James Island

New island restaurants are here and focused on easy and healthy food, just in time for summer! Welcome - Beech - now OPEN at 1739 Maybank Highway (shopping center at the intersection of Folly & Maybank). Beech was started by two brothers with a passion for food which is both nutritious and fast. They now have 3 locations in Charleston and focus on acai, poke and juices. You can get food to go, delivered or catered. Also, the owners of Huriyali downtown plan to open a second location at 2016 Wappoo Drive, down the street from the Terrace Theatre. Huriyali means “green vibrance” in Hindu. Owners Tom McFall and Ruchi Mistry have been delighting downtown diners to delicious sandwiches, salads and smoothies since 2015. They hope to open this location by early fall. Name still TBD.
