Food Truck Food Court?! In Charleston?

The owners of Rutledge Cab Company (yes, including our very own Bill Murray) have now opened a new venture next door. Welcome, The Container Bar! Open on September 19, the concept for The Container Bar is

a food truck hub. Each day different food trucks serve up their specialties. So far they've had Lola's Lumpia, Samir'a Gyros, and Blackenese hibachi (for lunch) and Cast Iron, Dashi, Chicken Fats, Roti Rolls, and Squeals on Wheels (for dinner).

Three years in the making, the Container Bar offers electricity to food trucks to "plug in" as well as a bar, indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Follow them via their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Container-Bar-Charleston-

On the day we visited, I choose Cast Iron for lunch. They offer a variety of options including burgers, bbq and fried shrimp. I opted for the marinated portabello mushroom sandwich and seasoned fries. It was delicious!

Don't be confused by the location. Although the address is 2130 Mt. Pleasant St., the Container Bar is on the peninsula right next door to Rutledge Cab. And luckily although it's downtown there is ample parking behind the building. Enjoy!
