Are you looking for a new coffee spot in downtown, Charleston? Of course you are! Today, my friend Sarah Goldman and I, visited the new Bitty & Beau’s coffee shop for the first time. Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is more than a cup of coffee – it’s an experience. It’s a national franchise founded by the Wright family in honor of their two children Bitty and Beau who have Down Syndrome. The shop is run by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Wrights opened their first location in January 2016 in Wilmington, NC. Their Charleston location is the second and opened in February of 2018. They have a wonderful location on historic Church Street. Savannah is next up.

On our recent visit, we enjoyed meeting the friendly staff including Sam and Cassie. Here they are:

We ordered coffee, smoothies, and muffins. Sara noted the muffin was especially delicious. It was cranberry and lemon with a pop of lemon curd in the center. Yum!
